Hello. My name is Daisuke Morita (@marubinotto). I’m a software engineer based in Tokyo and developing an open-source software called "Cotoami".
Cotoami is a knowledge management platform designed to support individuals and teams engaged in creative and intellectual work. It offers a unique feature that connects knowledge with location information. On this site, you will find news and explanatory articles about Cotoami as well as my own experiences using it as its developer.
The first version of Cotoami was released as a web application in 2017, but development was paused in July 2019. After going through the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to rebuild it from scratch, and in 2025 I was able to release the new Cotoami Remake as a desktop application.

The best way to understand what Cotoami really is to try it for yourself. The following article provides a getting-started guide, starting with installation and basic usage, and including practical examples of Cotoami's distinctive process of knowledge creation.
As a unique experiment made possible by a knowledge base that comes with maps, I also publish a blog series about my journeys. In these articles, I share how I use Cotoami to plan and record trips, and to discover new destinations. For me, this journey has become something like a lifelong project. It is an endless stream of fascinating experiences, though I sometimes wonder if readers will enjoy them as much as I do.
